A changelog widget is an embeddable component that shows recent product updates inside an application, usually behind a bell icon or a "What's new" link. It pulls from the same entries as the hosted changelog page, so one published update appears in both places.

## Why teams embed one

A hosted changelog page only reaches people who visit it. A widget puts the same updates in front of users while they are in the product, which is where a new feature is most likely to be tried. Unread indicators give returning users a reason to look.

## How it is installed

Most widgets are a small script or component dropped into the application shell, with a generated snippet for React, Vue, or plain HTML. Styling is controlled through a theme and custom CSS so the widget matches the surrounding product rather than the vendor's brand.
