May has passed, but new Changebot features are forever 😅.

Check out our latest major feature called "Recaps," and all the other hard work we did for you this month. Our previously monthly updates got sent on the 15th or later... but using Recaps we've got this update out to you on the first business day of the month!

We're planning on using Recaps for weekly social roundups, our monthly updates, and for providing tailored updates to high value customers, we'd love to hear how you're using Recaps!

Introducing Recaps

Explore our new Recaps feature that allows you to generate comprehensive summaries of your customer updates.

With options to preview recaps, select date ranges, and filter the data, you can keep track of important changes effortlessly. Enjoy a more intuitive interface that includes keyboard shortcuts for faster navigation, and real-time notifications for your recap generation processes.

New Features

In May we shipped the following new features, live and ready for you to use today.

You can now:

  • Manually create customer updates with ease using a dedicated button for quick access.
  • Access RSS and Atom feeds for your published updates, keeping you informed about new content in real-time.
  • Now you can search through users, teams, and products effortlessly using our new comprehensive search functionality.
  • Add highlights to the date picker, making it simple to identify the most recent updates in your Recaps.
  • Select worthy commits using checkboxes, allowing you to choose which changes to focus on during recap generation.
  • Utilize a new date picker within the recaps builder for more precise date range selections.
  • Generate customer updates using a new method that incorporates the RAG approach for better context relevance.
  • Real-time preview generation for recaps, with a streamlined process for saving and reviewing your updates.

Improvements

In addition to the above new features we also fixed up some existing workflows, including:

  • Enhanced layout and styling for the Recaps feature, providing a more cohesive and user-friendly experience.
  • Improved navigation and user experience by ensuring redirects are consistent when saving updates.
  • Made the date range selector wider to prevent overflow issues, enhancing usability.
  • Updated the confirmation instructions email to be more engaging for new users.

Bug Fixes

Whoops :). We've corrected the following three bugs, thanks for reporting them!

  • Fixed issues affecting the visibility of various UI components, ensuring everything displays correctly.
  • Corrected a problem with the repository selector in product settings, ensuring users can easily add repositories.
  • Addressed an error handling issue related to user onboarding for those not belonging to any teams.

Performance Enhancements

No one can tolerate a slow update, so we've also made the following performance updates.

  • Optimized the recap generation process for faster performance, making it quicker to access and view updates.
  • Improved loading times for the date picker and other components, enhancing overall app responsiveness.
